WILD: Invasive Species of South Florida

Criteria

WILD: Invasive Species of South Florida is an exhibition tackling Florida’s rampant invasive species problem. Florida has such unique and beautiful ecosystems, like the everglades, our natural waterways, and stunning beaches, which house unique and beautiful animals. Unfortunately, many people have chosen to make Florida a hot bed for keeping, selling, and breeding exotic pets. But what happens when those animals get loose? South Florida has become overrun with snakes, frogs, lizards, monkeys, birds, and more. None are native, but all are seemingly thriving, potentially at the expense of our endemic fauna. We are seeking artists interested in these invasive flora and fauna, and to highlight the changes and damages these organisms are exhibiting to Florida’s ecosystem. We are open to any medium and welcome a wide range of subjects.
