When the doors of the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force opened in May 1996, thousands of Eighth Air Force veterans were among the first visitors. Sadly, very few of them are with us today. Fortunately, their legacy lives on through the museum they helped to establish.

Today, visitors to the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force learn about their courage and sacrifice, patrons are enlightened through education programs and school children engage with educational resources in history and STEM-related topics. The Mighty Eighth Museum is home to the world’s most significant collection of Eighth Air Force materials, each object giving life and meaning to the historical narrative of the Eighth.
