Turn to the Sound
A contemplative small group experience

Saturday, February 15, 1-4pm

The awesome beauty of Long Island Sound is not just a summer thing! We might not think of the Sound as a place to visit in the colder months, but it is just as stunning and inspiring in the winter. It is calmer. The water looks different. And we are visited by spectacular birds. The emphasis of our gathering is to experience a new level of relationship with the natural world. To see it from a new perspective. To recognize and honor our connection with our magnificent natural treasure.

 Agenda:

We will convene our gathering inside SoundWaters Coastal Education Center on Cove Island. After introductions and some readings and reflections to set the tone for our experience we will take a contemplative walk to the beach. There we will enjoy some time being in, observing, and absorbing the beauty and wonder of the Sound. We will savor a few moments of peace, alone and in silence, and then join together in a ritual to venerate the moment. We will return to the warmth of the Center for some hot drinks, conversation, and a culminating activity.
