Stian Valnes
Campus Missionary

The fall semester of 2016 marked the beginning of a life-changing journey when I first stepped foot on the Collin College Frisco Campus. Honestly, I wasn’t excited to be starting at a community college, and I felt even more discouraged knowing that many of my high school friends were off at universities. But that quickly changed when I encountered FOCUS. I was warmly welcomed by a community eager to invite me into a real life with Jesus.

Over the next six years as a student involved with FOCUS, God began stirring in me a desire to continue His kingdom work on campus. After graduating from UTD in 2022, I was given the incredible opportunity to serve as a full-time campus missionary. Since then, I’ve been privileged to work with students at both UTD and now Collin College—helping them discover Jesus and learn to walk in step with Him. Every year, I meet students longing to belong and to know they matter. And every year, I get the joy of introducing them to Jesus and the vibrant community of believers here at Collin.
