Andrea Sierra
Campus Missionary

I arrived at UT Dallas in 2016 as a scared freshman, feeling defeated after being rejected from my dream school. My mom had prayed that God would lead me to the school where I would find Him—and though it didn’t look like it at the time, God was answering that prayer in a much better way than I could have imagined. During my time at UTD, God met me, pursued me, and surrounded me with a loving community through FOCUS. He used friendships with fellow students and staff to point me to Jesus and walk with me as I grew in faith.
Now, nine years later (having spent a third of my life here, wow) God has placed in me a deep love for this campus and a desire to see students experience His transforming power. As a Psychology and Child Learning and Development major, I’ve developed a heart for connecting with students in meaningful, personal ways and sharing the gospel in ways that resonate with their unique stories.
One of my greatest passions is creating space for Hispanic students to encounter Jesus. Many of our students come from first-generation homes, struggle with homesickness, or feel most themselves when speaking their first language. Over the past few years, I’ve been building Mi Gente, a community within our ministry where Hispanic students can grow in faith and form deep, Christ-centered friendships. It’s been incredible to witness God’s hand at work, and I’m excited to keep investing in what He is doing here at UTD.
