
The Doris Harrington Memorial Scholarship was created to honor our friend and long time Little Pink Volunstar Doris Harrington.
Doris attended the University of Maryland and Colorado Women's College as a scholar athlete and graduated with a B.A. in Criminal Justice. She also held a Master's Degree from Johns Hopkins University and graduated from the FBI Academy. Her career lead her to become a Boardwalk Patrol Officer in Ocean City, MD then faithfully served the citizens of Annapolis as a Police Officer until her retirement from the Annapolis Police Department as a Lieutenant.
Doris had a huge passion for volunteering and blessed many organizations with her talents. Including: Maryland Special Olympics, Law Enforcement Torch Run, Holly Hill Police Explorer Post of Volusia County, Southeast Volusia Relay for Life, Atlantic Center for the Arts, ACA Harris House and Little Pink Houses of Hope. Over her lifetime, Doris helped to raise more than $7 million for the communities she served.
For 12 years she volunteered with Little Pink Houses of Hope. Working year round to prepare for retreats, seeking donations from the community, holding fundraisers, spreading awareness and traveling to other locations to serve where needed. She loved being a part of serving breast cancer families and was a true Ambassador for Little Pink Houses of Hope.
This scholarship is to honor the life she lived in the service of others.
