About Jamie: Jamie is the co-founder and executive director of Mattea’s Joy, a non-profit organization committed to bringing care, connection, and community to families with hospitalized children since 2010. Her experience bedside at a hospital with her daughter, Mattea, for the better part of a year allowed her to peek behind the curtain of what it means to be a caregiver to a medically fragile child and the life challenges that go along with those circumstances. As a result, she developed a passion for creating spaces of connection and educating others on best practices that invite joy into life’s unexpected, and sometimes tragic, moments. She began Discover Joy. with the intention of helping others discover joy more fully in their lives, despite life’s challenges.
