New & Improved reception premiers at ArtServe, Friday, January 26th from 6-9 pm. Exhibition will run until March 22nd.
This is a FREE reception and great for kids and adults. Registration strongly encouraged.Technology has been progressing rapidly these past few decades, and the world of art is no exception. But what does progress actually mean? There is a tension to be found in our "modern" society, a push-and-pull between sentimentality versus practicality, intention versus productivity. A few questions emerge from this idea of progress as the main goal in life: Are we living up to our previous generation's ideals, or perhaps letting them down? What if those ideals were wrong in the first place? Has technology truly and wholly replaced everything from our past? Where do we see the future of art? Is it an optimistic future?
ArtServe’s first exhibit of 2024 will explore the dichotomies of life amid technology and progress.
New & Improved is inviting artists to display their perspective on how nostalgia intersects with the realities of our expectations for the future.
