Henry Street Settlement is here for New York during the most sustained humanitarian crisis in many of our lives. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to upend the lives of people around the world, Henry Street is providing essential services to thousands of New Yorkers who have nowhere else to turn. We are delivering upwards of 20,000 meals each week—a massive undertaking—to residents of our homeless shelters and supportive housing residences, Meals on Wheels clients, and others receiving hand-delivered groceries through three new food pantries on the Lower East Side. Through our Helpline, we’re referring callers to mental health and financial resources; help accessing benefits such as unemployment insurance; and Henry Street’s excellent and still-operating employment, education, youth, and arts programs.
