About our Keynote Speaker:
Joseph Backholm is a lawyer, columnist, podcast host, worldview instructor, and Senior Fellow for Biblical Worldview at Family Research Council. He is the host of the podcast, Outstanding, where he facilitates on-going conversations about the news of the day and the ideas that shape us. He is also the co-creator of the card game Wokelandia, a satirical yet serious game based on the rules of wokeness. He also has extensive experience on the front line of the culture wars. He previously spent 10 years as President of the Family Policy Institute of Washington, in Washington State, where he led three statewide ballot measures on same-sex marriage and gender. He also served as the director of What Would You Say? at the Colson Center for Christian worldview where he created a YouTube channel answering common questions about faith and culture. Joseph received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington and his law degree from Seattle University. He and his wife Brook live in Raleigh, North Carolina with their four children.
